Ryland Walker Knight is a writer and a filmmaker and, once upon a time, he was called a film critic. He is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a partner at Capsaicinco. In 2024, he was selected as a Sundance Institute Native Lab Fellow to develop his feature film The Lip of the World. In 2025, he participated in NYU Tisch’s second annual “Empowering Indigenous Voices: An Intensive Film Directing Workshop.”
A basketball and audiobook enthusiast, Ryland lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
