During the fall of 2008, Danny Kasman asked me to join him in establishing a new blog of smart film writers. I was a fan of Danny's work, and flattered by the invitation, so I was excited to write for him; I jumped in as soon as I could. Since then my contributions have slowed, but we did a lot of great work at Cannes in 2011 and we continue to bounce ideas off one another. You can read more about the blog here.

First of all, I should like to cop to the fact that I am obsessed with shooting stills of windows because I love the frame-within-a-frame trope and I love light.

Click here to see all the sets of images that I have uploaded to flickr.

Each set tells a different story, but some are simply collections for reference (for me), but the two I'm perhaps most proud of are from Summer 2011: one traces my path through Europe in a series of self-made postcards; the other is from my time on a farm, named David's Folly Farm, where I shot a small documentary about my friend Greg and his life there as Farm Manager.

My blogspot blog, which has a lot of different kinds of writing and images. Some series I'm proud of: A Conjunction of Quotations, Convergences, Alain à la recherche, BANG BANG, The Lynch Mob, SFIFF54 coverage and my Cannes 2011 coverage. Hell, we even had a podcast for a while.

As my life has shifted away from long form compositions and more stray thoughts in words (at least for now), I've begun to use my tumblr as my scrapbook, my mnemonic aid for ideas for later.</description>
